Message for drivers interested in St James’ Court development

William Leech 55+, a subsidiary of the UK’s leading housebuilder Persimmon Homes, is advising homebuyers who own a car and are interested in reserving an apartment at St James’ Court in Gateshead, to move quickly, as only limited parking is available.

The range of stylish one and two bedroom apartments are now on sale and are specifically targeted at those aged 55 and over at St James’ Court, located on the desirable St James’ Village development in Gateshead.

William Leech 55+ spokesperson Kevin Thubron, explains: “We have only allowed for 30 per cent parking at St James’ Court for a number of reasons.  Firstly, the development has excellent public transport links with access across the whole region, so catching a bus or Metro is extremely easy and reasonably priced, or even free in some cases.

“Secondly, through the research we’ve conducted, our target market of homebuyers aged 55 and over, stated that a lot of their free time is spent holidaying abroad so, they’ve found their cars have become redundant.

“Finally, as a subsidiary of Persimmon Homes, we feel it is important at all of our developments to introduce traffic calming measures which will help to ease congestion and also encourage homeowners to be more environmentally friendly by using public transport.”

The complex of 63 apartments offers residents communal lounge and kitchen facilities, a conservatory, laundry room and reception with liaison officer as well as exceptional security features including secure entry door access, a burglar alarm to each apartment and 24-hour assistance from a property management company.

Prices start from just £96,950 at St James’ Court, the first of a number of planned William Leech 55+ developments across the region, which was officially opened by Sir Bobby Robson CBE in May.

Positioned just off the A184 Felling By-Pass, the development has excellent transport links via the nearby Gateshead Stadium Metro station and a regular bus service; it is also within easy reach of the A19 and A1 providing access to the region’s wider road network.
